The Vancouver Canucks lost defenceman Filip Hronek late in the third period of Friday's loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Hronek was pulled by the concussion spotter after taking an elbow to the head from Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov in the Canucks' zone.
There was no penalty called on the play.
The 28-year-old Czech D-man logged 24:26 of ice time in the game, which ended as a 4-3 Vancouver loss in overtime. Hronek delivered three hits and blocked four shots in the contest.
Head coach Adam Foote told reporters after the game that Hronek was pulled by the spotter, but had no further update on his status.
Entering Friday's game, Hronek was averaging 24:34 of ice time on the Cancuks' blueline, dishing out nine assists and registering an even rating.
Vancouver is back in action on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Cancuks will hope that Hronek and fellow defenceman and captain Quinn Hughes are able to return to the ice as they look to snap a three-game losing streak.
