Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby, Edmonton Oilers winger James Neal and San Jose Sharks goaltender Martin Jones have been placed on unconditional waivers for the purposes of buyouts.

The Vancouver Canucks have placed Braden Holtby on unconditional waivers with the intention of completing a buy out. The move will allow the veteran netminder to become an unrestricted free agent.

Holtby, 31, signed a two-year $8.6 million contract as a free agent last season. He had a 7-11-3 record with a .889 save percentage in his one season with the Canucks.

Neal, 33, had two years remaining on his contract with a $5.75 million cap hit. He was acquired by the Oilers in a trade with the Flames for Milan Lucic in 2019 and had five goals and 10 points in 29 games last season.

Jones, 31, had three years remaining on his contract with a $5.75 million cap hit. The anchor of the Sharks in net for the last six seasons, Jones struggled with a 15-13-4 record with a .896 save percentage last season.
