The Vancouver Canucks will be looking to pick up consecutive wins for just the second time this season when they wrap up a five-game road trip in Ottawa on Wednesday night as -125 road favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Vancouver is coming off a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Monday that marked its lone win in its last seven road games heading into Wednesday night's matchup at the Canadian Tire Centre.

After opening their campaign amid high expectations, the Canucks now find themselves once again on the verge of a second straight lost season. Vancouver shooters have failed to produce, averaging just 1.82 goals per game during a 2-8-1 run. However, bettors have enjoyed consistent results on the totals, with the Under going 5-1-1 over Vancouver's past seven outings.

The Senators are set as +105 home underdogs at online betting sites for Wednesday night after closing out a four-game road trip with Saturday's 4-2 loss in Los Angeles. Ottawa has now lost five straight games and has posted just a single victory in its past eight home dates. However, the Senators have skated away with the win in three of their last four meetings with the Canucks, capped by back-to-back victories in Ottawa in late April.

Elsewhere on the Wednesday NHL odds, the Toronto Maple Leafs will try for a fifth straight victory as they entertain the Colorado Avalanche as -130 home favourites. Later in the evening, the Edmonton Oilers will be aiming for a sixth straight home win as they take on the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins as -130 betting chalk.

The Maple Leafs have moved atop the Atlantic Division standings during a red-hot run that has produced 14 wins over their past 16 outings. The team was simply dominant during its recent four-game road trip, going undefeated while claiming victory by a combined margin of 14 goals. Much of the credit must go to the goaltending tandem of Jack Campbell and Joseph Woll, who have combined to allow just seven total goals over the team's last seven games.

The Avalanche open a five-game road trip in Toronto on the heels of Saturday's decisive 6-2 win in Nashville. Colorado has overcome a season-opening slump by posting wins in seven of eight outings, and has topped the Maple Leafs in each of its past three visits to Toronto.

The Oilers return home from a three-game road trip looking to win three in a row for the first time in almost four weeks. The Penguins travel to Edmonton after opening their five-game road trip with a 2-1 shootout loss in Calgary that marked their first defeat in five away games.
