Canucks' Myers ejected after hit to head on Canadiens' Armia

Joel Armia would head off the ice after this high shot from Tyler Myers.

Vancouver Canucks defenceman Tyler Myers was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct Thursday for an illegal check to the head of Montreal Canadiens forward Joel Armia.

The incident occurred late in the third period as Myers caught Armia with a high hit that made contact with the head. After the referees reviewed the play, Myers was ejected from the game.

After the game, head coach Claude Julien said Armia was diagnosed with a concussion and would be out indefinitely. The Canadiens forward had a career-high four points in Montreal's 7-3 win over Vancouver.
