Aatu Raty's 2026 season has started with some challenges.
The Vancouver Canucks have placed the 23-year-old centre on waivers, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Wednesday.
Raty has recorded one goal over four games and was a healthy scratch for the club's first two games of the season. The Finn was scratched again on Tuesday for the Canucks' game against the New York Islanders.
Last season, the second-round pick had four goals and 10 assists over 66 games in Vancouver.
The Canucks acquired Raty, forward Anthony Beauvillier and a conditional draft pick from the New York Islanders in exchange for Bo Horvat in January 2023.
The six-foot-two, 204-pound athlete went on to win a Calder Cup championship with Vancouver's American Hockey League affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, in June 2025.
Elsewhere, Alex Barre-Boulet was also put on waivers by the San Jose Sharks. The 29-year-old centre has played in just two games this season and has recorded one assist.
