The Vancouver Canucks are making a swap in the crease.
Goalie Nikita Tolopilo was recalled from AHL Abbotsford under emergency conditions on Saturday while fellow netminder Jiri Patera was sent down, the team announced.
Tolopilo, 25, has appeared in six games with the NHL club this season, sporting an .881 save percentage and 3.98 goals-against average. In 13 AHL games, he has a .901 save percentage and 2.94 GAA.
Patera, 26, played in one game for the Canucks, allowing seven goals with an .825 save percentage.
He has a .915 save percentage and 2.49 GAA in 16 games at the AHL level.
The Canucks are back in action Sunday when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT).
