Two assistant general managers will remain with the Vancouver Canucks as the team undergoes major changes this off-season.
General manager Ryan Johnson said on Tuesday that AGMs Cammie Granato and Emille Castonguay will be retained.
Johnson, who was promoted from AGM last week, made the announcement hours after announcing that head coach Adam Foote and some of his assistants would not be returning.
Granato and Castonguay were both hired by the Canucks in early 2022, only weeks after the team had hired Jim Rutherford as president of hockey operations. Their futures with the team were unclear after Rutherford transferred to an advisory role and Daniel and Henrik Sedin were promoted to co-presidents.
Granato is a Hall of Famer who was the captain of the United States team that won the first Olympic gold medal in women's ice hockey at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. Castonguay is a former agent whose client list included New York Rangers star Alexis Lafrenière.
