The Vancouver Canucks will be looking to revive their fading playoff hopes with a win on Wednesday night when they wrap up a two-game home series with the Winnipeg Jets as +115 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Vancouver is coming off a 4-0 loss to Winnipeg on Monday, which also marked the team’s fourth shutout defeat of the season going into Wednesday’s matchup at Rogers Arena.
Now riding a two-game losing streak, the Canucks sit just two points back of fourth-place Montreal in the North Division standings. However, Vancouver has played five more games than the Canadiens, and is at risk of losing further ground in the standings during an upcoming six-day break in their schedule.
Sporadic goal production and key injuries have contributed to the Canucks’ struggles. The team has managed to win eight of 12 outings despite allowing 39 or more shots on goal on five occasions during that stretch. However, Elias Pettersson’s indefinite absence due to injury has been felt. Vancouver has averaged just 2.75 goals per game in its past 12 contests, and has seen the UNDER pay out at sports betting sites in 10 of its last 13 outings.

Listed as -135 road favourites for Wednesday, the Jets look to tally consecutive wins for the first time in three weeks. Winnipeg has managed to stay in the hunt for the top of the North Division despite earning wins in just four of its last nine outings. However, the Jets have dominated in recent visits to Vancouver, posting seven straight victories, and blanking the Canucks in three of their past four road matchups.
Elsewhere on the Wednesday NHL odds, the Ottawa Senators host the Calgary Flames as +160 home underdogs. The Senators escaped with a narrow 2-1 victory over the Flames in Monday night’s series opener. Ottawa has now earned the win in six of its past nine home dates, a run that features three wins in four dates with the Flames.
Losers in seven of their past 10 road contests, the Flames are set as generous -180 chalk for Wednesday’s game. Like the Canucks, Calgary has struggled to maintain consistent offensive production, scoring one or fewer goals six times over its past 10 road games, and has fallen to defeat in six of its past eight games while listed as road chalk.
As well, the Montreal Canadiens opened as -125 home favourites ahead of their scheduled date with the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night. However, after seeing Monday’s series opener postponed and the Canadiens’ Tuesday practice cancelled due to concerns over COVID-19, the league has now cancelled Montreal’s games through the rest of this week.
