Canucks sign defenceman Ashton Sautner to one-year, two-way deal

The Vancouver Canucks have signed defenceman Ashton Sautner to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Sautner appeared in one game for the Canucks last season and registered one shot on net. In 51 games with the AHL's Utica Comets, Sautner tallied one goal, 12 points and 41 penalty minutes during the 2019-20 season.

The 26-year-old has played in 23 career NHL games with Vancouver, posting three assists and four penalty minutes.

The Flin Flon, Man., native joined the Canucks organization as an undrafted player during the 2015-16 season. In his AHL career, Sautner has recorded 11 goals, 49 points and 160 penalty minutes in 240 games.
