The Vancouver Canucks have come to terms with two of their forward prospects on entry-level contracts.
The team announced three-year contracts with Gabriel Chiarot, 19, and Riley Patterson, 19, on Monday.
“Over the past couple of weeks, we have been impressed by a number of our young players at both the showcase in Seattle and at training camp in Penticton,” GM Patrik Allvin said in a statement. “We are happy to sign two of them, Riley Patterson and Gabriel Chiarot. Riley is a right-shot centre prospect who has made strides working with our development group the past couple years, while Gabriel has good drive, work ethic, and tenacity, and also has a nose for the net.”
Chiarot had 25 points in 66 games for the OHL's Brampton Steelheads last season and one point in six playoff games. He was a sixth-round pick by the Canucks in 2025.
Patterson was a fourth-round pick by the Canucks in 2024. Last season with the Barrie Colts of the OHL, he had 25 goals and 59 points with 12 more points in the playoffs. The Colts traded Patterson to the Niagara IceDogs in August after the forward had requested a trade.
