The Washington Capitals and Minnesota Wild made a trade Saturday, swapping defencemen and picks in this year's draft.
The Capitals acquired Declan Chisholm and the 180th overall selection from the Wild in exchange for Chase Priskie and the 123rd pick.
Chisholm appeared in a career-high 66 games with the Wild this past season, recording two goals and 10 assists.
The 25-year-old from Bowmanville, Ont., was drafted in the fifth round, 150th overall, by the Winnipeg Jets in 2018. Minnesota claimed him off waivers from Winnipeg in January 2024. He has 21 points in 99 career games with the Jets and Wild.
Priskie had 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) in 61 games with the AHL's Hershey Bears last season.
The 29-year-old from Pembroke Pines, Fla., was drafted in the sixth round, 177th overall, by the Capitals in 2016. He made his NHL debut with the Florida Panthers during the 2021-22 season, appearing in four games.
