Timothy Liljegren is onto his third team in three seasons.
The San Jose Sharks traded the defenceman to the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick (via Vegas), the team announced Friday.
Liljegren, 26, was dealt to the Sharks from the Toronto Maple Leafs early last season.
The Swede has appeared in 43 games for the Sharks this year, recording one goal and 10 assists in 20 minutes, seven seconds per contest.
Over 307 career games, the 2017 first-round pick has 21 goals and 72 assists.
He now reunites with ex-Leafs teammate Rasmus Sandin on the Capitals' blue line.
