Capitals acquire Johan Larsson in trade with Coyotes

The Washington Capitals have acquired depth winger Johan Larsson in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes.

Samantha Pell of The Washington Post reports the Capitals are sending a 2023 third-round pick to Arizona in the trade. The Coyotes will be retaining 50 per cent of Larsson's $1.4 million contract. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Larsson, 29, has played nearly 500 games over his career with the Wild, Sabres and Coyotes. This season he has six goals, 15 points and 30 penalty minutes.
