The Washington Capitals announced Thursday they have acquired forward Justin Sourdif from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick.
Sourdif, 23, spent the 2024–25 season with Florida's AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, recording 34 points (16 goals and 18 assists) in 43 regular-season games.
He added 10 points (four goals and six assists) in 18 playoff appearances as the Checkers advanced to the Calder Cup Final, where they fell to the Abbotsford Canucks in Game 6.
Across 149 career AHL games, Sourdif has totalled 96 points (35 goals and 61 assists).
The Richmond, B.C., native has also appeared in four NHL games to date, including one this past season in which he scored his first NHL goal.
Sourdif was selected by the Panthers in the third round (87th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft.
