Capitals add Ovechkin to active roster ahead of Saturday's tilt vs. Bruins

It looks as though Alex Ovechkin is poised to rejoin the Washington Capitals‘ lineup.

The Capitals have loaned Daniel Carr to the taxi squad and have activated Alex Ovechkin to the active roster.

The team announced Saturday that it has loaned forward Daniel Carr to the taxi squad and added Ovechkin to its active roster ahead of the Capitals’ Saturday night tilt vs. the Boston Bruins.

Ovechkin — along with Evgeny Kuznetsov, Dmitry Orlov and Ilya Samsonov — were added to the NHL’s COVID-19 list last week and the team was fined $100,000 by the league for violating its novel coronavirus protocols.
