The Washington Capitals announced Monday that forward T.J. Oshie will be out of the lineup indefinitely due to a lower-body injury.
John Carlson is also day-to-day and will miss Monday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes as the star defenceman is dealing with a lower-body injury as well.
Both players were hurt during Saturday's contest against the Nashville Predators.
Oshie appeared to pull something while skating to the puck during a power play early in the first period.
The 35-year-old from Everett, Wash., has two goals and five points in eight games this season.
Carlson was also hurt during the opening frame and did not return.
The 32-year-old from Natick, Mass., is one point shy of the 600-point career milestone and has two goals and six points in nine games this year.
The Capitals, who have won three of their past four games, are tied with the New York Islanders for fifth in the Metropolitan Division with a 5-4-0 record and 10 points.
