The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Michael Sgarbossa to a two-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Thursday.

The 28-year-old Sgarbossa spent most of last season with the AHL's Hershey Bears. He suited up for five NHL games with Washington, tallying two assists.

A six-year veteran, Sgarbossa has played for the Colorado Avalanche, Anaheim Ducks and Florida Panthers before joining the Capitals in 2020.
