The Washington Capitals are re-upping with one of their draft-day trade acquisitions.
The Capitals have signed defenceman Declan Chisholm to a two-year, $3.2 million deal worth $1.6 million in AAV, the team announced Monday.
Chisholm was acquired by Washington in a deal with the Minnesota Wild on Saturday along with a sixth-round pick, 180th overall. The Wild acquired unrestricted free agent defenceman Chase Priskie and the Capitals' fourth-round pick, 123rd overall, in the swap.
The 25-year-old blue liner tallied two goals and 10 assists in 66 games with the Wild last season.
Originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets 150th overall in the fifth round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Chisholm has five goals and 16 points in 99 NHL games split over three seasons.
He was waived by the Jets in January of 2024 and was selected by the Wild.
