The Washington Capitals are bringing in a promising overseas forward for next season.
Centre Petr Sikora has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Capitals for the 2026-27 season, the team announced Thursday.
The deal carries an average annual value of $995,000.
Sikora, 20, spent the 2025-26 season with Trinec Ocelari HC in the Czech Extraliga — the Czech top league — and registered three goals and six assists in 24 regular-season games. He also nabbed one goal and one assist in 10 post-season games.
He has represented Czechia at the world juniors the past two years and has six goals and 10 assists in 14 combined games between the two tournaments. He helped his side to a silver-medal finish at the 2026 tournament and a bronze in 2025.
