Ethen Frank is staying in the U.S. capital.
The Washington Capitals forward signed a two-year, $4 million extension, the team announced on Wednesday.
Frank, 28, has 11 goals and 12 assists in 52 games for the Capitals in his second year with the club.
He made his NHL debut with Washington last season, registering four goals and three assists in 24 appearances.
Frank, of Aurora, Colo., joined the Capitals as an undrafted free agent ahead of the 2021-22 season out of Western Michigan University.
The Capitals (31-25-7) enter action Wednesday sitting four points out of a playoff spot.
