The Washington Capitals have added a forward from the KHL.
Sheldon Rempal, who spent last year in Russia with Ufa Salavat Yulayev, returned to the NHL with a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.
His deal is worth $775,000 in the NHL and $450,000 in AHL.
Rempal, the 29-year-old from Calgary, is coming off a 61-point season (31 goals, 30 assists) in the KHL.
He spent the prior season in the Vegas Golden Knights organization, mostly playing for AHL affiliate Henderson.
In 21 career NHL games dating back to the 2018-19 season with the Los Angeles Kings, Rempal has two goals and one assist.
He has also appeared with the Carolina Hurricanes, Vancouver Canucks and Golden Knights.
