The Washington Capitals have signed their 2025 second-round pick.
Milton Gastrin agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced on Thursday.
The Swede's deal is worth $877,500 at the NHL level and $85,000 in the AHL, but he is expected to be loaned to Swedish club MoDo next season.
Gastrin was selected 37th overall in June. The 18-year-old played for MoDo's junior team last season, recording 42 points (18 goals, 24 assists) in 40 games.
He had three goals and seven assists as Sweden captured silver at the world juniors in January.
