The Washington Capitals have inked winger Conor Sheary to a two-year, $3-million extension, the team announced Wednesday.
Sheary signed a one-year, $735,000 deal with the Capitals in December 2020 after playing out a three-year, $9-million contract originally signed with the Penguins in 2017.
Through 40 games in Washington, Sheary's posted 11 goals and 19 points for the Capitals, topping the 10 tallies he amassed through 63 games last season while splitting time between the Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins.
The 28-year-old has 169 points through 365 games in the big leagues after he was originally signed by the Penguins organization as an undrafted free agent back in 2015, eventually going on to win two Stanley Cups with the black and gold.
