Cody Ceci hopes the Los Angeles Kings are lucky No. 7.
The free-agent defenceman signed a four-year, $18-million deal with the Los Angeles Kings, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Tuesday.
The Kings become the seventh NHL team for Ceci, who previously played for the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars.
Ceci's signing was announced right around the same time that the Kings came to terms with fellow defenceman Brian Dumoulin.
Ceci, 31, finished last season with the Stars, who acquired him and Mikael Granlund from the rebuilding Sharks in February.
Due to scheduling, Ceci actually played 85 regular-season games last year, finishing with four goals and 20 assists.
Ceci went to the Western Conference Final with the Stars last season before Dallas lost to the Edmonton Oilers. The previous year, Ceci was a member of the Oilers team that beat the Stars in the West Final and lost to the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.
The Ottawa native was picked by his hometown Senators 15th overall in the 2012 NHL Draft. He also played the bulk of his junior career at home with the Ottawa 67’s.
