Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Schmaltz is out six to eight weeks while defenceman Conor Timmins is day-to-day because of upper-body injuries, the team announced Monday night before its game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Schmaltz left Thursday's season opener against Pittsburgh, while Timmins exited Saturday's game against Boston.
Schmaltz posted career highs of 23 goals and 36 assists in 63 games for the Coyotes last season.
Timmins had no points in six games for the Coyotes last year.
