The Arizona Coyotes have re-signed RFA centre Barrett Hayton to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday. NHL Network's Craig Morgan reported that the contract was worth $3.55 million, carrying an AAV of $1.775 million.

"Barrett is a young, talented, hard-working player who made significant strides last year," Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong said. "We're excited to have him on our roster for this season."

In 60 games with the Coyotes last season, Hayton amassed 10 goals for 24 points. Over 94 career NHL games, he has scored 13 goals and tallied 31 points.

Hayton, 22, was selected fifth-overall in the 2018 NHL Draft by the Arizona Coyotes and has since played three seasons split between the Coyotes and their AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners.
