The Dallas Stars have signed defenceman Brendan Smith to a one-year, $1 million contract, the team announced Monday.
Smith, 35, has spent the last two seasons of his 13-year career with the New Jersey Devils. In the past, he has also spent time with the Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes.
He tallied five goals and 10 assists while putting up a -3 plus/minus last season. The five goals tied his career-high.
