Vancouver's rebuild continues with defenceman Jack Thompson.
Thompson, 24, has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the Canucks, general manager Ryan Johnson announced on Friday.
The Courtice, Ont. native was selected 93rd overall by Tampa Bay in 2020 NHL draft. He made his NHL debut with the Lightning in 2024, and was traded to San Jose later the same year.
In the 2024-25 season, Thompson played 31 games, tallying four goals and six assists. The Sharks traded the defenceman to Vancouver in March, where he joined the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks, scoring three goals along with ten assists in 14 games.
Thompson is Johnson's second signing, after the Canucks' new GM announced a one-year, two way deal with 25-year-old Russian forward Ilya Safonov.
