Zach Metsa is staying with the Buffalo Sabres organization.
The defenceman has signed a two-year, two-way deal with the club worth an average annual value of $775,000, the Sabres announced Wednesday.
Metsa, 26, joined Buffalo's AHL affiliate as an undrafted free agent in 2023 following a four-year collegiate stint with Quinnipiac, which he captained to an NCAA national championship as a senior.
Following a 24-point rookie campaign in 2023-24, Metsa led all Rochester defencemen with 46 points (seven goals, 39 assists) in 69 games this past season.
