Detroit Red Wings forwards Patrick Kane and Austin Czarnik will not play against the Carolina Hurricanes due to illness, the team announced Thursday.
Kane, 35, signed with the Red Wings as a free agent in November and has appeared in 41 games for the team, scoring 17 goals and registering 40 points.
Czarnik, 31, has one assist in 25 games this season.
The Red Wings are currently battling to make the post-season for the first time since the 2016-17 season, sitting two points out of the second wild-card in the East.
