Detroit Red Wings left wing Tyler Bertuzzi left Saturday's game against the New Jersey Devils after blocking a shot in the second period and will not return, according to the team.
Bertuzzi was a bright spot for the Red Wings last season. The Sudbury, Ont., native broke out offensively, registering 30 goals and 32 assists for 62 points, all career highs.
The Red Wings re-tooled extensively over the summer and look poised to make noise in a crowded Atlantic Division, but they could be missing a key source of offence.
