The New Jersey Devils have activated captain Nico Hischier from injured reserve on Saturday. To make way, Andreas Johnsson was assigned to AHL affiliate Utica Devils.
Hischier left after two periods of the Devils' very first pre-season game away to the Montreal Canadiens. The former first overall pick was retroactively placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury on Oct. 10 and missed New Jersey's season opener.
Following morning skate, Hischier said that he was "feeling good" and would be playing the Devils' home opener against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night.
