The New Jersey Devils will need a new assistant coach.
Jeremy Colliton will be departing the franchise to pursue other business opportunities, the Devils announced on Thursday.
The 41-year-old had been with the Devils for the past two seasons but has been coaching since 2014 in the Swedish league.
In 2017, Colliton became head coach of the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, the affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, for his first coaching gig in North America. He was eventually promoted to lead the Blackhawks and served as bench boss for parts of four seasons.
Colliton was fired in 2021-22 after a rocky start to the year, but then took over the Abbotsford Canucks, Vancouver's AHL affiliate, the following season. He also has experience with Canada's Olympic team.
