The New Jersey Devils will be without their top goaltender for the remainder of the month.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe announced Wednesday that Jacob Markstrom will miss a couple of weeks with a lower-body injury.
Earlier in the day, goaltender Nico Daws was recalled from the AHL's Binghamton Devils. Jake Allen is the other goaltender on the roster.
It's unclear how Markstrom was injured. He last played in relief of Allen on Monday against the Blue Jackets, making eight saves in the third period.
The 35-year-old had a .900 save percentage in 49 appearances for the Devils last season.
