The New Jersey Devils have re-signed winger Nick Merkley to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal will pay him $874,125 at the NHL level and $70,000 in the AHL.
The 23-year-old was acquired from the Arizona Coyotes in the Taylor Hall trade last December. He appeared in four games with the Devils last season and recorded his first-career goal and assist in that time.
Merkley had 35 points in 54 AHL games split between the Binghamton Devils and Tucson Roadrunners last season. He is currently on load to Assat in Finland’s Liiga until the Devils’ 2020-21 training camp begins.
