Luke Glendening has earned a spot with the New Jersey Devils.
After signing with New Jersey on a professional tryout for training camp, the Devils officially signed Glendening to a one-year contract worth $775,000 on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old forward spent the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning. In 2024-25, he appeared in 77 games, registering four goals and seven points.
A five-foot-11 centre, Glendening has played in 12 NHL seasons, spending time with Detroit and Dallas before landing in Tampa.
Glendening's best season came with the Red Wings, with whom he debuted in 2013-14. During his eight seasons in Detroit, he received votes for the Selke trophy on three occasions and cracked double digits in goals three times.
The veteran forward brings 50 games of post-season experience with him to the Devils lineup. He has suited up in the playoffs in each of the past four seasons.
New Jersey begins its 2025-26 campaign on Thursday night as it visits the Carolina Hurricanes.
