A new person will lead Team Canada into upcoming men's hockey competitions.
Doug Armstrong stepped down as general manager of the team, sources confirmed to Sportsnet on Tuesday.
In a return to best-on-best action over the past two years, Armstrong led Team Canada to gold at the 4 Nations Face-Off and silver at the Winter Olympics.
Armstrong, 61, took over the position in 2024. He had also been set to serve as GM for the 2022 Olympics before the pandemic prevented NHL players from attending.
The Sarnia, Ont., native also plans to step down from his role as general manager of the St. Louis Blues after the season, with a succession plan already in place as Alexander Steen will take over.
Hockey Canada also faces uncertainty in its women's program, where both GM Gina Kingsbury and head coach Troy Ryan have not committed to returning after also taking silver in Italy.
