Amid a tough night on the injury front, the Anaheim Ducks dodged a bullet after Leo Carlsson went down the tunnel in the third period.
Carlsson returned to the bench in Monday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs after he had to be helped off the ice following an accidental collision with teammate Troy Terry.
Carlsson was slow to get up before the play was whistled down. Two teammates helped him to the bench as Carlsson could put no weight on his left leg.
Earlier in the game, the Ducks' top scorer, Cutter Gauthier, was ruled out after the first period with an upper-body injury. Gauthier was cross-checked by Leafs defenceman Jake McCabe just before scoring his 38th goal of the season.
Carlsson, the second-overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. opened the scoring on Monday with his 25th goal of the season. He now has 62 points in 62 games for the Pacific Division-leading Ducks.
