Forward Ryan Strome signed a five-year deal worth $5 million per season with the Anaheim Ducks.
The unrestricted free agent recently posted a 54-point season with the New York Rangers and added another nine points in the playoffs as his team went to the Eastern Conference Final.
Originally drafted fifth overall by the New York Islanders in 2011, the 29-year-old Strome also played parts of two seasons with the Edmonton Oilers before being traded to the Rangers in 2018.
Strome's time with the Rangers saw him post his most consistent production. He averaged 0.74 points per game over four seasons with the Blue Shirts. He set career highs in assists (41) and points (59) in 2019-20 and scored a career-high 21 goals this past campaign.
The Mississauga, Ont., native is coming off a two-year deal that saw him earn an average of $4.5 million per season.
Longtime Ducks centre and captain Ryan Getzlaf announced his retirement after 17 seasons back in April and Strome serves as a replacement in Anaheim's top six.
Anaheim had more than $30 million in projected salary cap space by the end of the opening day of free agency.
