Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras has been fined $1,500 by NHL Player Safety for slashing San Jose Sharks defenceman Matt Benning, the league announced Wednesday.
Zegras was assessed a minor penalty for the incident at 12:25 of the second period of the game Tuesday night in San Jose.
The department of player safety also announced the money from the fine goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
