Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras will have a hearing on Monday for delivering a hit to the head on Michael Rasmussen of the Detroit Red Wings.
The incident occurred with 2:41 remaining in the second period during Anaheim's 5-4 overtime loss Sunday.
Zegras appeared to catch an unsuspecting Rasmussen in the head in the neutral zone.
Rasmussen, who scored his ninth goal of the season earlier in the period, did not return to the game. No penalty was called.
Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan told reporters Monday that Rasmussen is day-to-day and will be unavailable for Tuesday's road game against the Minnesota Wild.
Detroit was leading 4-2 at the time of the incident. Anaheim came back to tie it with two goals in the third period. Patrick Kane scored the winner for the Red Wings with a minute remaining in OT.
