The Toronto Maple Leafs are adding some physicality to their forward corps.
Forward Brandon Duhaime is signing a three-year, $7.8 million deal with the Maple Leafs, worth $2.6 million in average annual value, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Wednesday.
Duhaime, 29, is a solid checking winger, eclipsing 140 hits in all five of his NHL seasons.
The six-foot-two forward had four goals and five assists while playing all 82 games with the Washington Capitals last season. He added 159 hits and 78 penalty minutes, both of which were second on the Capitals behind fellow enforcer Tom Wilson.
Drafted by the Minnesota Wild 106th overall in 2016, Duhaime made his NHL debut in the 2021-22 season. He has 33 goals and 37 assists in 375 career games split between the Wild, Capitals and Colorado Avalanche.
