Evgenii Dadonov is taking his talents to New Jersey.
The Devils signed the forward to a one-year, $1-million deal plus performance bonuses on Tuesday.
Dadonov spent the past two-and-a-half seasons with the Dallas Stars after he was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens in February 2023.
The 36-year-old Russian hit the 20-goal plateau for the fifth time in his career this past season, recording 20 goals and 20 assists in 80 games. He also had one goal and three assists in 16 playoff games as the Stars reached the Western Conference Final.
Dadonov was drafted in the third round, 71st overall, by the Florida Panthers in 2007. After three seasons with the Panthers, Dadonov went back to Russia in 2012 and played five years in the KHL with Donbass HC and St. Petersburg SKA.
He returned to the Panthers for the 2017-18 campaign and had a breakout season with 65 points (28 goals and 37 assists) in 74 games.
Dadonov topped that the following year with a career-high 70 points (28 goals and 42 assists) in 82 games.
He has 361 points (163 goals and 198 assists) in 617 career games with the Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Vegas Golden Knights, Montreal Canadiens and Stars.
