Artemi Panarin is still keen on finding a new permanent home.
The star forward, who's a pending free agent and expected to be dealt ahead of the trade deadline, prefers to be traded to a destination with a contract extension in place.
"There's no question that an extension matters," Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said on Hockey Night in Canada's Saturday Headlines segment.
"I think the teams that are interested in doing it are Washington, L.A., San Jose, Florida and Detroit."
Panarin, 34, is currently being held out of the New York Rangers' lineup for roster management purposes. This season, he's posted 19 goals and 38 assists in 52 games.
Since entering the league in 2015-16, the winger has been one of the most productive players in the league. His 927 points rank fifth over that time, and his first two seasons were his lone two under a point-per-game.
In addition to the aforementioned teams, Friedman added that the Carolina Hurricanes are interested in acquiring Panarin, although there are mixed opinions on whether they're willing to give an extension.
"I think they're flexible, it just affects what they might be willing to pay for him," said Friedman.
Panarin carries an $11.6-million cap hit this season with a full no-movement clause. The NHL trade deadline is at 3 p.m. ET / Noon PT on March 6.
