Order has been restored in the fantasy hockey world: The Rocky Mountain Line has finally caught fire.
Over the past nine games, a ridiculous 8-0-1 stretch for the Colorado Avalanche, Gabriel Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen have combined for a robust 41 points.
If utilized correctly, employing a line stack can be a very useful tool, especially in daily fantasy. Across the NHL, there’s a variety of different trios that offer up immense value on a nightly basis. Yes, line assignments change frequently, but here are some current trios that are bringing the goods right now:
Edmonton: Draisaitl | McDavid | Puljujarvi – 123
Colorado: Landeskog | MacKinnon | Rantanen – 103
Toronto: Hyman | Matthews | Marner – 98
Pittsburgh: Guentzel | Crosby | Rust – 94
Chicago: DeBrincat | Suter | Kane – 94
St. Louis: Kyrou | O’Reilly | Perron – 88
For what it’s worth, implementing some sort of line stack in the Sportsnet Fantasy Hockey Pool could prove to be a smart strategy as well. After all, it’s all about extracting as much value and production as possible. Try it out!
Now to your questions:
Yes, simple one for me. As I intimated in last Sunday’s 20 Fantasy Thoughts, the only Sabres worth hanging onto are Jack Eichel, Taylor Hall and maybe Rasmus Dahlin. Everyone else can go. What a train wreck.
Nope, I’d stand pat with what you have. You’ve got plenty of goalie depth to stay afloat.
Definitely, without question. As things stand right now, I view Kaprizov as a top-40 fantasy file heading into next season. He’s phenomenal. There’s not much that can happen between now and the rest of the season that will change my stance. Keep him.
If you have access to an IR slot, it’s an easy decision to stash him there. If you don’t, dump him. It’s amazing how much bad luck the Coyotes have had in their crease when it comes to injuries the last couple of years. If only they could stay healthy.
I’m holding. It’s unlikely you’ll be able to fetch proper value on the trade market and both are far better options than what you’d likely find on the waiver wire right now. Hope for the best.

At this point, provided an IR spot isn’t accessible to you, I’d strongly contemplate dropping Radulov. While he’s currently considered day-to-day, I don’t see this situation ending well. It’s too bad, the Russian was off to a blazing start before his season was derailed due to injury. If there’s any silver lining in this situation, the Radulov loss has allowed Jason Robertson to step up into a bigger role. Under the radar, the rookie has 20 points in 25 games for the Stars.
In general, I’m taking this latest run for the Predators with a grain of salt. When it comes to Tolvanen, the 21-year-old has certainly seized the opportunity over the last little while. Is this sustainable? I wish I had the answer, but the more we see it play out, the more you get that Kevin Fiala feel from last year, right? Ride him while he’s hot!
Given the clip they’re producing out lately, it’s hard not to side with Rantanen and Landeskog. The Avalanche are dialled in and are showing no signs of letting up.
And it’s not that I don’t like Tkachuk and Perron, by the way. It’s close, but hard to go against what’s happening in Denver these days.
As a trade chip, there’s no question Markstrom has the most value. That said, I wouldn’t be in a hurry to deal him if I were you. For me, it’s a simple solution: Drop Korpisalo. Columbus has been so inconsistent defensively this season. You won’t be missing out, trust me.

Definitely, yes. Even with Mrazek set to return soon, I view Nedeljkovic way ahead of Reimer in the pecking order. He’s been money in the bank. In fact, I think the rookie will push Mrazek for playing time. It’ll be fun to watch it all play out. What a great story!
My condolences. In fairness, Eichel has been an elite fantasy talent for years. He’ll come back stronger next season, just not sure it’ll be in Buffalo, if you catch my drift.
I’m becoming increasingly skeptical by the day, that’s for sure. If Kirby Dach is available on your waiver wire, I’d stash him. I think you’re fine dumping Strome, he’s not doing much and also not playing with the big boys. Move on.
Just remember that patience is a virtue. If I had to choose, I’d dump Fiala over Hoffman. Most importantly, his lack of attachment to Kaprizov for most of the year has really hurt his fantasy value. In St. Louis, there’s a plethora of talent upfront to steer Hoffman through this malaise. It’ll come; I think.

Again, I’d sit tight. Firstly, you won’t find anything better on waivers. Secondly, you’d be hard pressed to get fair value in a trade. And thirdly, the Blues are starting to get healthier, which in turn, should mean lots of winning between now and the end of the regular season. I expect a Colorado-type run from the Blues. I hope I’m right.
