The Calgary Flames are acquiring defenceman Nikita Okhotiuk from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round pick, the team announced Friday.
The deal is pending the completion of the trade call.
Okhotiuk, 23, has one goal and seven assists in 43 games for the Sharks this season.
The left-shot defenceman joins a depleted Flames blueline after the team traded veterans Noah Hanifin and Chris Tanev prior to the deadline.
Okhotiuk is scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of this season.
