The Calgary Flames will be down a forward as they try to pick up a win on the road Tuesday night.
Anthony Mantha was ruled out against the Montreal Canadiens with a lower-body injury after taking a hit behind the Montreal net in the first period. He stayed down shortly after the hit and was slow to skate to the bench right before the first intermission.
Calgary made the announcement at the beginning of the second period. After the game, Flames head coach Ryan Huska didn't have an update on Mantha's status.
The 30-year-old had played just over five minutes in the game, recording one shot on goal.
Mantha signed with the Flames as a free agent this off-season and has scored four goals and seven points in 12 games with his new club.
