Blake Coleman won't be suiting up any time soon.
The Calgary Flames forward is out until after the Olympic break with an upper-body injury, head coach Ryan Huska told reporters on Wednesday.
Coleman has already missed eight games due to the ailment. He was placed on injured reserve on Jan. 13 after leaving early in a game against the Boston Bruins five days prior.
After the game, Huska said Coleman was "probably just a little bit sore and not anything we wanted to push at that time." The exact nature of his injury, however, remains unclear.
Coleman, 34, has 13 goals and 21 points in 44 games for the Flames this season.
He is in the fifth of a six-year, $29.4-million contract set to expire at the end of next season, making him a candidate to be traded ahead of the March 6 deadline.
Through his 667-game career, he's also played for Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Devils.
The Flames are back in action Thursday when they visit the Minnesota Wild (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT).
