The Calgary Flames have granted forward Dillon Dube an indefinite leave of absence as he attends to his mental health.

The Flames add that Dube is under the care of health professionals and requested that the forward’s privacy be respected.

Dube was scratched from Saturday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers with an illness.

The 25-year-old has only three goals and seven points in 43 games this season. He was a healthy scratch back on Jan. 9 and has been skating in the bottom six and has seen his average ice time drop.

Dube set a career-high of 45 points in 82 games last season while registering 15:10 of ice time.
