Flames' Milan Lucic ejected for hit on Jets' Dylan DeMelo

Milan Lucic would get a five minute penalty and a game misconduct for boarding Dylan DeMelo.

Calgary Flames left winger Milan Lucic was ejected from Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets for a second-period hit on defenceman Dylan DeMelo.

Lucic hit DeMelo while forechecking on the puck in the Jets end. DeMelo drew blood and went straight to the Jets dressing room after the play. Lucic's hit on DeMelo also awarded the Jets a five-minute powerplay. DeMelo returned to the game in the third period.

There is no word yet whether the Lucic hit will be reviewed by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for a possible suspension.

Through 20 games played during the 2021-22 season, Lucic has five goals and two assists.
